ASX 20 Visualization of Market Capitalization and Volume

Using the Treemap it helps represent and compare data between different companies on the Australian Stock Exchange 20 (The top 20 performing Australian Shares).
Data visual 1:
Demonstrates the Company and its market capitalization when compared with other companies in the ASX 20. Basically this is the overall monetary value of the company when compared with others. Commonwealth, CSL and BHP are the 3 biggest companies.
Data Visual 2:
Demonstrates the Company and its volume of trades when compared with other companies in the ASX 20. Telstra, Westpac and ANZ are the biggest volume traders on the ASX 20.
Data Visual 3:
Demonstrates the change in the price of the share during the year. The biggest loss was from Westpac and the biggest gain was from CSL.

The next blog will use the above data to create a new portfolio based on the ASX 20 using R and the Multiple Portfolio Theory which would help determine the best proportions to invest in each share. This would be a great strategy when investing in a SMSF or other long term investment strategies providing a decrease in risk and an increase in returns.
